Title:
"Call from Vilna Mishmeres Khoylim  to the Jewish population of the entire province"
Description:
Appeal from the Mishmeres Khoylim (Miszmeres Chojlim) hospital in Vilna aimed specifically at Jews from surrounding towns, who it claims make up the majority of patients at the hospital's clinics, lacking the resources that Jews living in the city have. These costs are borne by and large by the Jews of Vilna but now, because of the hard times, they can no longer carry this burden alone. The board asks all towns to form committees to fundraise for the hospital. Those who don't will have their requests and letters for aid refused because "If I am not for myself, who will be for me?" (Pirke Avoth, 1:14).
