A desperate appeal by the Kehillah (Jewish community council) of Iwie to the Jewish communities in Poland for aid, following a fire which has almost completely destroyed the town. 600 families, or about 3000 people are homeless, camping out on the ruins of their homes or in the fields and forests. The synagogue, orphanage, and other Jewish community buildings have been burnt to the ground. "Will you let an entire Jewish community be wiped off the face of the earth?... Please don't let us go under."
