Correspondence between an impressario in China with the Naye folkstsaytung and the Yidisher Artistn Fareyn

Letter from I. Vinogradoff, a Jewish impressario in Harbin, China to S. Grosfater, the editor of the Warsaw Jewish newspaper "Naye folkstsaytung" (New People's Newspaper). Vinogradoff has lived in Harbin for 15 years and there is a large Jewish community there, many of whom came as refugees from Russia in 1916-1920. There used to be Yiddish theater performed there but all the actors left for America and now Harbin's Jews must be content with Russian theater and some amateur Yiddish offerings. He wants Grosfater to spread the word that a Yiddish theater troupe from Poland can make good money in China and maybe even become rich. He can't fund travel expenses and suggests that the troupe raise funds from among Soviet emigres in Warsaw. A copy of a reply to Vinogradoff from the Yidisher Artistn Fareyn (Jewish Actors Union) expresses great interest in Vinogradoff's invitation. Yes,  a troupe can be organized and sent but their travel expenses must be covered in advance. Can't Vinogradoff raise the funds from an investor?
