Abraham Morewski [formerly Menaker] was born in Vilna in 1886 and died in Warsaw in 1964. He was a Yiddish actor, director, translator, and essayist. He was a member of the "Vilner trupe" (Vilna Troupe) and following WWII, became the leading actor in the E.R. Kaminska State Yiddish Theater. He played roles in several different Yiddish films, including "Al Chet" (I Have Sinned, 1936) and "The Dybbuk" (1937).
