The ORT Vocational School in Vilna, also called the Technicum, was founded in 1921 to train young people in the fields of mechanics and electrical maintenance.  The school was subsidized by ORT, the Vilna Kehillah and the Vilna municipality.  For the first three years the director was Israel Okun.  From 1924 until the closing of the school in 1934, the directorship was assumed by Matityahu Schreiber. The school had a technical library and published its own textbooks in Yiddish.
