Title:
Album of musical works composed by Reb Yontel Spilman
Description:
Album of handwritten musical compositions by the klezmer musician Yom Tov Spilman, known as Reb Yontel, who was born in Mezritch, lived in Lublin, and settled in Siedlce.  The album consists primarily of liturgical compositions including musical pieces composed for prayer services. The album appears to have been presented to Leibush Spilman, brother of Reb Yontel, in 1893, after Reb Yontel's passing.  The first page consists of the composition "Yir'u Eineinu v'Yismach Libeinu," [trans. Our Eyes wil Behold and Our Hearts Will Rejoice], from the weekday evening services.
