Siddur Pintshev (Pinczow). Excerpts. Copied from the original prayerbook found in the Pinczow Bet Midrash (synagogue or study house) by Simon Dubnow or his copyist in July 1894. The prayerbook was written by Eliahu ben Shmuel, known as Gruenem in 1614 [5375] on parchment, in Hebrew, mostly in square letters, referred to as 'Ktav Ashurit' by the copyist.. The prayerbook had 30 folios with additional pages added by the community over the years to commemorate pogroms or other anti-Jewish violence in various communities of Poland and Russia.
The excerpts copied by Dubnow, displayed in this website, were taken from the end of the prayerbook and consist of selected memorial prayers.The communities mentioned in the memorial prayers include Krakow, Lublin, Leczyca and others.
