Title:
Letter from Khaykl Lunski to Rabbi Isaac Rubinstein, Vilna
Description:
Letter from Khaykl Lunski to Rabbi Isaac Rubinstein, Vilna. Lunski has previously contacted the rabbi seeking financial support for himself and has received it. Now he is petitioning the rabbi to arrange a stipend for his thirteen- year-old son. Stipends for gymnasium students of Russian and Yiddish are available, but none are available for talented young scholars of the Talmud, who are studying in yeshivas. His son is greatly in need of money for tuition, clothing, and food. Lunski has tried to take out loans, but is now deeply in debt.
