Title:
TSYSHO/VILBIG brochure
Description:
Brochure issued by TSYSHO, the Central Yiddish School Organization and VILBIG (Vilner Yidishe Bildungs Gezelshaft; Vilna Jewish Education Society) in Vilna, clarifying for parents that one does not have to send one's children to Polish schools in order to fulfill the requirements of the state's new compulsory education law. In fact, sending Jewish children to Polish schools places them in spiritual danger. Parents can also comply with the law by sending their children to Yiddish secular schools, though they will have to pay tuition. The government is still not providing funding for Yiddish schools, despite a mandate to do so in the Polish constitution.
