Grodzienski of the Fareyn fun yidishe literatn un zhurnalistn in Vilne (Yiddish Writers and Journalists Union in Vilna) to Ephim Jeshurin in New York, asking him to put them in touch with the Fareynikte vilner hilfs-komitet (United Vilna Aid Committee) and the I.L. Peretz Writers Union, November 1939. The members of the union in Vilna have fallen on hard times since the outbreak of the war in September and their only hope is American Jewry.
